Physical Media Fair
August 1st 11am-5pm at the Village of Industry & Art
Ditching the digital and celebrating the physical. This day-long event with vendors (blu-rays/DVDs, VHS, records, CDs, books, zines, etc.), music, good vibes, and more.

Free Community Boating Days
August 1st & 8th, 2026
10am-1:30pm at FDR Park Boathouse
Free Community boating days at FDR Park. Instruction and support are provided for you and your family to get out and enjoy a day on the water. They have rowboats, kayaks, and canoes.
All ages are welcome, but kids must be accompanied by a guardian. No experience is needed and no pre-registration.

Low Cut Connie rocks and they are giving back to the city that they’re from with a free show at one of the most beloved dives in South Philly! This is an homage to their 2012 lunch pop-up at Ray’s Happy Birthday Bar!
Free Family Fishing

4pm-6:30pm at FDR Park Boathouse
Learn and try fishing in South Philly! We provide rods, bait, and instruction. All ages are welcome.

Sistah Soul Series

The Women’s Coalition for Empowerment presents a free live music event that brings together vocalists, poets, instrumentalists, and DJs for a night of R&B, jazz, soul, and improvisation under the magic of the Pier lights.
Gear Up for School – Back to School Event

11am-2pm at ECS St. Barnabas
Join Episcopal Community Services (ECS Philly) and the St. Barnabas Community Resource Center for Gear Up for School, a free community event designed to help West Philadelphia students and families prepare for a successful school year.
Bring the whole family and enjoy an afternoon filled with activities, entertainment, community resources, and school supplies while connecting with organizations that support children and families throughout the year.

Intro to Soil Testing
August 9th, 2026
10am-1pm at 90 Horticulture Drive
Penn State Extension soil experts will be guiding participants through the basics of how soil works, the types of soil you might encounter around Philly, how to interpret soil markers like pH, and how to collect, submit, and interpret a soil sample! This workshop is intended for beginners.
This event is free and open to all members of the public.
Re-Entry Resource Fair

11am – 2pm at Bright Hope Baptist Church
This FREE event connects returning citizens, justice-impacted individuals, and community members with valuable resources.
Free Family Fishing
August 15th, 2026
11 am-2 pm at Pier 68
Get ready for the kickoff of the free, family-friendly fishing program. All ages are welcome to learn how to fish. Gear and instruction are provided.
Public Safety Resources Fair

11am to 3pm at PA Convention Center Hall G
Hosted by DJ Touchtone with performances by Batala Philly, Universal African Dance & Drum Ensemble, and the Sixers Stixers! All centered around offering the community resources for the back to school season! Thrown by Re-entry Philadelphia.
Black August Canvass
August 19th, 2026
9:30am to 6pm at 1632 Cecil B Moore Ave
Join the Philly Black Worker Project on Thursday, August 19 as they hit the streets to organize 500 Black workers and build toward Black liberation. They’ll be talking with workers and neighbors, collecting 500 petition signatures in support of the All Due Respect Campaign, hearing people’s stories, and inviting more Black workers into the movement.
Fungadelphia Festival 2026
August 22nd, 2026
