On January 30, 2026, Unrivaled showed the world how ready Philadelphia is to embrace women’s professional sports. “Philly is Unrivaled” a campaign roll out that has been everywhere promoting a historic event.
The women’s professional 3×3 league made their first ever tour stop in Philadelphia on Friday night. It was a huge moment, not just for Philadelphia, but for women’s sports. The 2-game ticket showcased some of the best talent women’s basketball has to offer with the Breeze taking on the Phantom followed by the Rose tipping off against the Lunar Owls.
The word “unrivaled” is actually the perfect description for a multitude of reasons. This has never been done before, not at this scale, and never with this level of expectation.
The energy in the stadium was contagious. From fan activations, to sold out merch tables and grand tunnel player entrances, Unrivaled delivered an electric environment that the crowd and the players had been waiting for. It was a homecoming for Philly’s own Kahleah Copper and Natasha Cloud, and Philly let them hear how proud they were.
The first game of the evening was assumed by many to be a tough match up. Paige Bueckers, Cameron Brink, Rickea Jackson, and the Breeze basketball club fell to hometown hero Cloud’s Phantom basketball club alongside Kelsey Plum, Tiffany Hayes, and Alliyah Boston. Even with Bueckers scoring 23 points and Dominique Malonga’s double-double with 12 rebounds and 10 points, the Breeze’s rally fell short 68-71. Plum was the player of the game with the game sealing basket and 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

Unrivaled games are captivating until the end, their 4th quarter “first to eleven” structure means that every game ends with a buzzer-beater like feel.
The second game featured the defending champion Rose taking on the Lunar Owls. Marina Mabrey was the queen of the night. The 5’11” guard from Jersey led the Owls to a dominating victory of 85-75. An electric performance by Marina Mabrey made her crashout jar really pay off. She set multiple records for Unrivaled on Friday. Of those 85 points, Mabrey scored 47. She scored 27 points in 7 minutes, which also set the record for most points scored in a quarter. She was also 10-15 from the 3 point line, which was the most 3PM in a single game. The crowd was in a frenzy, Sixers Center Andre Drummond could be seen celebrating with Mabrey during her outing and on the Unrivaled broadcast he told Lisa Leslie and Sarah Kustok “This is her stage. I’ve known Marina since she was 14, her brother and I played in high school together… been a big fan of hers from very young til’ now.”
Drummond who plays in Xfinity Mobile Arena 41 times a year said that Unrivaled’s atmosphere was “amazing, electric, I’ve never seen anything like this, this type of atmosphere. I’ve been to Unrivaled games before but not in this setting.”
Unrivaled set the bar for women’s sports in Philadelphia, while simultaneously breaking records. There were 21,490 fans in sold out attendance on Friday night. It set an all-time record for Xfinity Mobile Arena. The only event close to that was 21,305 fans in 1998 when Allen Iverson and the Sixers took on Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. Being a sports fan in Philadelphia can be tumultuous at times, but the best of women’s professional basketball for this city is yet to come.
