Another long standing member of the Philly music scene is Man Man. They’ve been around since 2003, taking several hiatuses along the way, but ultimately reforming in 2020 with the release of their latest album, “Dream Hunting in the Valley of the In-Between.” I think the best way to describe Man Man is if Tim Burton and Hunter S. Thompson did a bunch of psychedelics and made a few albums together on Halloween. They’re fun, weird, and home grown natives out of Philly.
This week’s Philly Song of the Week is Inner Iggy off of Man Man’s latest album. Inner Iggy rushes out of the gate with an upbeat tempo and a beach-like guitar tone and melody. The energy throughout is sky-high, and it’s perfect for a beautiful 70 degree Friday in the city. Make sure you add this song onto your Spring/Summer playlists.
