The Philly Plain Dealer 2nd Print Edition is somewhere between a “zine” and a magazine, it is a 12 page saddle-stitched booklet featuring 8 news stories, one poem, and one crossword puzzle all written by a diverse team of local Philadelphians.
Many of our stories will not be available digitally for weeks, and will only be readable in the print edition!
Only 250 Philly Plain Dealer 2nd Print Edition copies will be published, all 250 will be hand-numbered and signed by a journalist featured in the publication, and 52% of print edition copies contain a small prize!

Beyond that, the Philly Plain Dealer is writer-owned! If you’d like to know about our compensation structure, writers sign up to be involved with the Philly Plain Dealer on a per-project basis, in this case it has been a 3 month period that ends at the conclusion of November. 65% of the profits generated by the Philly Plain Dealer 2nd print edition will be split equally among qualified writers, the other 35% goes towards the next print edition costs and some administrative costs like formally becoming a non-profit.
