In 2024 the Temple Owls reigned supreme as the first ever Women’s Big 5 Classic Champions! This year the schedules are set for the 2025 Women’s Big 5 Classic which will take place from November 12th through December 7th.
Here’s how it works, there are pods 1 and 2 which then lead into the Big 5 Classic wherein all six teams play against one another. The three Pod One Teams are Penn, Drexel, and St. Joe’s who will each play one another in one home game and one away game from November 12th through November 29th.
Pod Two features La Salle, Villanova, and Temple. Pod Two’s journey to the tournament starts on November 14th when La Salle takes on Temple at 6pm at the Liacouras Center. Temple travels to Villanova on November 22nd. The Explorers will host the Wildcats on November 25th.
Once these round robin games are completed in both pods, the seeding will be set. The number one seeds in each pod will compete for the title. The second place teams will compete for third place. The third seed teams will compete for fifth place.
The Big 5 is once again set to take place at the Finneran Pavilion. It is sure to be stacked with triple-headed action. With the anticipation and momentum for women’s sports in Philadelphia continuing to expand and become more accessible, the Big 5 is sure to showcase all the talent and spirit this city has to offer.

- Wednesday, Nov. 12 – Penn at Drexel
- Monday, Nov. 24 – Saint Joseph’s at Penn
- Saturday, Nov. 29 – Drexel at Saint Joseph’s
Pod 2
- Friday, Nov. 14 – La Salle at Temple
- Saturday, Nov. 22 – Temple at Villanova
- Tuesday, Nov. 25 – Villanova at La Salle
Big 5 Women’s Classic
Sunday, Dec. 7 at Villanova’s Finneran Pavilion
