In an attempt to sell more soda Pepsi is throwing a food festival and concert at Eakins Oval in Philadelphia on October 4th from noon to 5pm. Branding this event as a food festival is a foolish endeavor by Pepsi because they managed to book top-notch entertainment making the food an afterthought.
You clicked on the link. Clipse, Ari Lennox, Freeway, DJ Diamond Kuts, and DJ RL will be performing at “Philly Eats Fest” and entry is FREE. That’s right, you get to hear the biggest rap duo on the planet, “What We Do” and a live DJ Diamond Kuts set for free ninety-nine.

We are not a sponsor of this event or associated with Pepsi,
we just thought our audience would enjoy a free Clipse show.
Soda is the fifth best type of beverage behind water, alcohol, coffee, and electrolyte specific sports drinks. Why Pepsi thinks that throwing a big festival with Pusha T and Chickies and Petes will affect their market share in the beverage space is beyond me.
That being said, Cafe Carmela, Oregon & Philip’s Steaks, and a number of local eateries will be on site at Eakins Oval on October 4th to feed you as you enjoy the show!
The Philadelphia Inquirer is throwing a Food Festival of their own in November at the Fillmore that they launched 6 days ago that costs between $149 and $249. There is also Philly Street Food Fest in November at the building formerly known as Xfinity for $7.99.
Pepsi seemingly announced this free concert on September 23rd via press release giving them roughly 11 days to promote this mini-Made In America. Pepsi has used their marketing budget to deliver a treat to hip-hop fans across the Tri-State Area.
A little more than a week ago Clipse was performing at the Vatican for the Pope, and in a little more than a week he’ll be performing for you and me on Pepsi’s dime.
