The 2025 Philadelphia Eagles will go 13-4, win the NFC East, then the NFC, and then repeat as Super Bowl Champions.
That’s right. My prediction is at the top of the article in plain words, I’m burying no leads. As the returning Super Bowl Champions that confidence was earned over 20+ games of NFL football last season. When you win the gold, the burden of proof lies with the losers. It is not my job as an Eagles fan to tell anyone why we are better than every other NFL team, because the play on the field last year told the world for me.
The Eagles won the Super Bowl last year and experienced far less shake ups than previous NFL Champions. No one held out of training camp in any significant way, drama is low, and the scent of victory remains in the air nearly seven months after the parade down Broad Street.
The Eagles championship nucleus remains with the exception of some aging pieces. Goodbye to Brandon Graham, Slay, and CGJG, we appreciate everything you did for us, but on Thursday night against the Cowboys you officially become part of the past.
Additions of AJ Dillion, Sam Howell, Fred Johnson, and John Metchie show a focus on building offensive depth and preparation for the worst. This is a savvy move by an experienced GM aware of the wear and tear that a Super Bowl season puts on your roster.
Similarly on defense the Birds are looking to run back the Zach Baun playbook of finding overlooked or once promising players from around the league, and turning them into Pro Bowlers. This year’s Vic Fangio projects are Adoree Jackson, Jakorian Bennett, Josh Uche, and rookie Jihad Campbell. If any of them turn out to be Pro Bowlers or even serviceable starters the Philadelphia Eagles will be one of the most dominant defenses in football again.
There is no reason to expect anything but greatness from the 2025-2026 Philadelphia Eagles, anything other than greatness would be disappointing… but it wouldn’t be devastating. Metaphorically, I’m full. The Super Bowl win last year filled my belly, I’m not starving for victory! I’ll admit it. I’d like some victory, but my belly does not ache. I know that’s not the correct football mentality, but I’m not a football player. I’m just a guy, so unhealthily yearning for 53 strangers to make me happy is unhealthy. By week 6 I’ll probably be there, but I’m in no rush to begin my Sunday anxiety attacks. Right now, I’m in a Hawaiian shirt along the ocean. I am at peace, we reign supreme, therefore I yearn for nothing and hope to coast to a repeat in effortless fashion.
The 2025 Philadelphia Eagles will go 13-4, win the NFC East, then the NFC, and then repeat as Super Bowl Champions.
The Eagles will lose two out of their first five games, which will make the Eagles fanbase, myself included, turn into their old-selves. Why two of their first five? Because the Eagles starters don’t play in the preseason and weeks 1-5 are typically when the Eagles either find their identity or flounder. This all hinges on our new Offensive Coordinator Kevin Patullo. Being the Eagles Offensive Coordinator is like being the Mayor of a town with no money, you will be blamed for everything and if you do your job well your reward is to leave Philadelphia. Jalen Hurts has had more Offensive Coordinators than Donald Trump has had Attorneys General. (Yes, I shoe-horned that in to write Attorneys General). Also, our first opponents are the Cowboys, Chiefs, Rams, Bucs, and Broncos; that’s our biggest 4 foes back to back and then the sneakily capable Broncos.
The Eagles will then lose one game from week 10 to 15, either fresh off the bye week against the Packers or against the Lions, Chargers, or Bears.
Lastly, the Eagles will lose one divisional game randomly throughout the season, whether it be against the Giants, Washington, or Dallas. I say this because going 6 for 6 against the division is incredibly hard and the NFC East is unpredictable and volatile.
We will win the NFC East. Why? Because the Commanders are staring a sophomore slump straight in the eyes, the Giants are maybe the most interesting dumpster fire in the NFL with their cartoon Quarterback carousel, and the Cowboys carried out a trade that knocked them to the bottom of the NFL power rankings.
The Eagles will arrive at full strength towards the end of the season and barrel into the playoffs with a head full of steam. We will be successful in the playoffs because Jalen Hurts is our quarterback, and once again the burden of proof is on the rest of the NFL. It’s everyone else’s job to prove me wrong, there’s nothing that can be said, there is only football that can be done.
