It’s funny how when the warmer times come around is when the hit songs start to heat up.

“B-b-b-b-back it up, all that shit you was talking you gon have to back it up,”

This week’s song of the week goes to rapper Smooth Jewlz. His hit song “Back It up”, has been taking over parties, clubs and most importantly radio stations. Riding through Philly I’ve been hearing it more and more. “Back it up”  was actually released by Smooth Jewlz in November of 2023 but didn’t start to get major traction until now. 

The song itself makes you want to get up, shake your hips back and forth, and bust a move. The song has a fusion of the current Philly club music with a hint of New York City drill in the background. You can find the track on Apple music and Youtube.

Looking through his socials, you can see how the song has been used over media now such as Tik Tok reels and Instagram videos for viral dances. He’s been invited on multiple different online platforms for freestyles as well. Jewlz is an independent artist who told the Plain Dealer he is “fielding offers” at the moment.

To be honest, it’s hard to find much on Jewlz, hopefully with all the new coverage he’s getting his name and talent will become more widespread than just the Philadelphia, Delaware and New Jersey areas. We’re hype to see what’s next from Smooth Jewlz!
