July 4th in Philadelphia is always a spectacle, mostly because of the multi-week celebration thrown by the City and Wawa. For July 4th, 2024, the Wawa Welcome America! festivities will last 16 days and is currently searching for local acts to highlight during it!

The Twitter account @July4thPhilly put out the call on March 4th, and is giving artists and performers until March 31, 2024 to apply. Selected performers will be notified by June 1, 2024.
Also listed on this page are sign-ups for internships, food vendors, and their “10 days of giveaways.”

The Wawa Welcome America! Festival is, as we said, a spectacle. This means that artists and food vendors will get an opportunity to get free promotion from Wawa and a cavalcade of other major sponsors, as well as a chance to get in front of the city and highlight their skills.
Last year’s festivities included Ludacris, Demi Lovato, parades, Wawa’s Hoagie Day, free museum days and multiple events ending in fireworks.
A word of advice to artists and performers, you need to plan out a season ahead. The July 4th Festival gets booked in March, Christmas shows will be booked in the Fall, that’s just how event planning works. If you are a performer looking for a chance in Philadelphia, this could be the highlight of your Summer. I’d also recommend searching for a Porchfest host now too.
